30 million DKK for Plant Plasticity Research

The grant from the VILLUM Foundation has ensured 5 years of research in plant plasticity and resilience in a changing climate. The center's research will be focused on studying the biochemical strategies of plants in coping with challenges in their environment. The grant is a continuation of the succesful VILLUM-Funded Center of Excellence: ProActive Plants.

It is the ambition of the new research center to perform relevant basic research that will lead to solutions for e.g. agriculture and plant medicine production. To this end, all knowledge created at the new research center will be made freely available for the public at least within 6 months of the original publication. This is in accordance with the Open Access policy of the visionary VILLUM Foundation. Read more about the foundation's Open Access policy here (in Danish).

The researchers participating in the VILLUM Center for Plant Plasticity are for the most part working at University of Copenhagen's Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, but are representing a diverse set of approaches to plant plasticity.
