VILLUM Research Center for Plant Plasticity
investigates how plants and insects respond to challenges and changes in their environment – from the single molecule level to the field. This will increase our understanding of how plants react under a changing climate and help us pro-actively safeguard production of key crops as well as wild flora and fauna. Special focus is given to the biosynthesis and storage of the highly complex defense compounds plants produce to ward of predators and cope with environmental challenges.

Get a glimpse of the future
For the kickoff we have invited Laura Storm, executive director at Sustainia to give us a glimpse of the future ahead of us. Sustainia is a global sustainability think tank that show-cases the cities and societies we could live in, if all parts of the society work together on a common goal: Sustainability. It focuses on creating inspiring and tangible sustainability guides for companies, policy makers and civil society across sectors and regions. Each year the Sustainia Award Committee, which consists of Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Governor of California, former Prime Minister of Norway Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland; EC Commissioner for Climate Action Connie Hedegaard; and Chair of UN’s Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, selects and rewards the most innovative solutions across sectors. Sustainia was founded in March 2012 by Monday Morning.
